  • Where it applies — steady (streamline) flow of an incompressible fluid with zero viscosity. Kahan lagu — incompressible, zero viscosity fluid ka steady (streamline) flow.
  • Continuity — A₁v₁ = A₂v₂ (Eq. 9.10); Av = constant = volume flux. Narrower pipe → faster flow.सांतत्य — A₁v₁ = A₂v₂ (समी. 9.10); Av = नियत = आयतन फ्लक्स। Continuity — A₁v₁ = A₂v₂ (Eq. 9.10); Av = constant = volume flux. Patla pipe → tez flow.
  • Work done on the fluid — W₁ − W₂ = (P₁ − P₂)ΔV, used to change its kinetic and potential energy. Fluid par kiya work — W₁ − W₂ = (P₁ − P₂)ΔV, jo KE aur PE badalta hai.
  • Energy changes — ΔK = ½ρΔV(v₂² − v₁²) and ΔU = ρgΔV(h₂ − h₁) (work–energy theorem). Energy changes — ΔK = ½ρΔV(v₂² − v₁²) aur ΔU = ρgΔV(h₂ − h₁) (work–energy theorem).
  • Bernoulli’s equation — P₁ + ½ρv₁² + ρgh₁ = P₂ + ½ρv₂² + ρgh₂ (Eq. 9.12), i.e. P + ½ρv² + ρgh = constant (Eq. 9.13). Bernoulli’s equation — P₁ + ½ρv₁² + ρgh₁ = P₂ + ½ρv₂² + ρgh₂ (Eq. 9.12), yaani P + ½ρv² + ρgh = constant (Eq. 9.13).
  • Faster → lower pressure — in a horizontal pipe, where the speed is higher the pressure is lower. Tez → kam pressure — horizontal pipe mein jahan speed zyada, wahan pressure kam.
  • Fluid at rest — v = 0 gives P₁ − P₂ = ρg(h₂ − h₁), the same as Eq. 9.6. Rest mein fluid — v = 0 rakhne par P₁ − P₂ = ρg(h₂ − h₁), Eq. 9.6 jaisa.
  • Limits — not for viscous flow (energy lost as heat), compressible fluids, or non-steady / turbulent flow. Limits — viscous flow (energy heat ban jaati hai), compressible fluid, ya non-steady / turbulent flow par lagu nahi.
  • Torricelli’s law — open tank: speed of efflux v = √(2gh) (Eq. 9.15), like a freely falling body. Torricelli’s law — open tank: efflux speed v = √(2gh) (Eq. 9.15), free fall jaisi.
  • Rocket case — when P ≫ Pa, the efflux speed is set by the container pressure (rocket propulsion). Rocket case — jab P ≫ Pa, efflux speed container ke pressure se tay hoti hai (rocket propulsion).
  • Dynamic lift — force on a body moving through a fluid: aeroplane wing, hydrofoil, spinning ball. Dynamic lift — fluid mein chalti body par force: plane ka wing, hydrofoil, spinning ball.
  • Magnus effect — a spinning ball drags air; streamlines crowd above, so there is a net upward force. Magnus effect — spinning ball hawa ko saath kheenchti hai; upar streamlines ghani, isliye net upward force.
  • Wing lift (Example 9.7) — ΔP × A = weight; the air above the wing needs to be only about 8% faster than below. Wing lift (Example 9.7) — ΔP × A = weight; wing ke upar hawa ko neeche se sirf lagbhag 8% tez hona hota hai.
