Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- LCAO — atomic orbitals of similar energy and symmetry combine to give an equal number of molecular orbitals.LCAO — समान ऊर्जा व सममिति वाले परमाणु कक्षक मिलकर उतने ही आण्विक कक्षक बनाते हैं।LCAO — similar energy aur symmetry wale atomic orbitals milkar utne hi molecular orbitals banate hain.
- Bonding MO — lower energy than the atomic orbitals; electrons here hold the atoms together. Bonding MO — atomic orbitals se kam energy; yahan ke electrons atoms ko jode rakhte hain.
- Antibonding MO — higher energy (marked *); electrons here oppose bonding. Antibonding MO — zyada energy (* mark); yahan ke electrons bonding ka virodh karte hain.
- Order (up to N₂) — σ1s < σ*1s < σ2s < σ*2s < (π2px = π2py) < σ2pz < (π*2px = π*2py) < σ*2pz.क्रम (N₂ तक) — σ1s < σ*1s < σ2s < σ*2s < (π2px = π2py) < σ2pz < (π*2px = π*2py) < σ*2pz।Order (N₂ tak) — σ1s < σ*1s < σ2s < σ*2s < (π2px = π2py) < σ2pz < (π*2px = π*2py) < σ*2pz.
- Order (O₂, F₂) — σ2pz comes below (π2px = π2py). Order (O₂, F₂) — σ2pz, (π2px = π2py) se neeche aata hai.
- Bond order — ½ (Nb − Na); 1, 2, 3 mean single, double, triple bonds. Bond order — ½ (Nb − Na); 1, 2, 3 matlab single, double, triple bond.
- Stability — Nb > Na → stable; zero or negative bond order → unstable. Stability — Nb > Na → stable; zero ya negative bond order → unstable.
- Bond length — decreases as bond order increases. Bond length — bond order badhne par ghatti hai.
- Magnetism — all MOs doubly filled → diamagnetic; any singly occupied → paramagnetic. Magnetism — saare MO double bhare → diamagnetic; koi single bhara → paramagnetic.
- O₂ — 16 electrons; 10 bonding, 6 antibonding; bond order 2; two unpaired π* electrons → paramagnetic.O₂ — 16 इलेक्ट्रॉन; 10 आबंधी, 6 प्रतिआबंधी; बंध कोटि 2; दो अयुग्मित π* इलेक्ट्रॉन → अनुचुंबकीय।O₂ — 16 electrons; 10 bonding, 6 antibonding; bond order 2; do unpaired π* electrons → paramagnetic.
- He₂ & Be₂ — bond order zero, so neither molecule exists. He₂ aur Be₂ — bond order zero, isliye dono molecules exist nahi karte.
