Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- First law — energy of an isolated system is constant; ΔU = q + w. First law — isolated system ki energy constant; ΔU = q + w.
- Signs (IUPAC) — q + when heat flows into the system; w + when work is done on it. Signs (IUPAC) — heat system mein aaye to q +; system par kaam ho to w +.
- State function — U and H depend only on the state; q and w depend on the path. State function — U aur H sirf state par depend; q aur w path par.
- Constant volume — ΔU = qV.स्थिर आयतन — ΔU = qV।Constant volume — ΔU = qV.
- Constant pressure — ΔH = qp, and ΔH = ΔU + pΔV.स्थिर दाब — ΔH = qp, और ΔH = ΔU + pΔV।Constant pressure — ΔH = qp, aur ΔH = ΔU + pΔV.
- Gases — ΔH = ΔU + ΔngRT; Δng = gaseous products − gaseous reactants (moles). Gases — ΔH = ΔU + ΔngRT; Δng = gaseous products − gaseous reactants (moles).
- Exo / endo — ΔH negative for exothermic, positive for endothermic reactions. Exo / endo — exothermic mein ΔH negative, endothermic mein positive.
- Hess’s law — ΔrH is the same whether the reaction occurs in one step or in a series of steps. Hess’s law — reaction ek step mein ho ya kai mein, ΔrH same rehta hai.
- CO example — C + O₂ → CO₂ (−393.5) minus CO + ½O₂ → CO₂ (−283.0) gives C + ½O₂ → CO = −110.5 kJ mol⁻¹.CO उदाहरण — C + O₂ → CO₂ (−393.5) में से CO + ½O₂ → CO₂ (−283.0) घटाएँ: C + ½O₂ → CO = −110.5 kJ mol⁻¹।CO example — C + O₂ → CO₂ (−393.5) minus CO + ½O₂ → CO₂ (−283.0): C + ½O₂ → CO = −110.5 kJ mol⁻¹.
- Extensive — ΔrH scales with the amount: halving Fe₂O₃ + 3H₂ → 2Fe + 3H₂O takes −33.3 to −16.6 kJ mol⁻¹. Extensive — ΔrH amount ke saath badalta: Fe₂O₃ + 3H₂ → 2Fe + 3H₂O ko aadha karne par −33.3 se −16.6 kJ mol⁻¹.
- Reversal — reversing an equation reverses the sign of ΔrH. Reversal — equation ulta karne par ΔrH ka sign ulat jaata hai.
