Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- Mole — the SI unit of amount of substance (symbol mol); one mole contains exactly 6.02214076 × 10²³ elementary entities. Mole — amount of substance ki SI unit (symbol mol); ek mole mein exactly 6.02214076 × 10²³ elementary entities hoti hain.
- Avogadro constant (Nₐ) — 6.02214076 × 10²³ mol⁻¹; the number itself is called the Avogadro number (≈ 6.022 × 10²³). Avogadro constant (Nₐ) — 6.02214076 × 10²³ mol⁻¹; yeh number Avogadro number (≈ 6.022 × 10²³) kehlata hai.
- Elementary entity — an atom, a molecule, an ion, an electron or any specified group of particles. Elementary entity — atom, molecule, ion, electron ya particles ka koi specified group.
- Molar mass (M) — mass of one mole in grams, numerically equal to the atomic/molecular/formula mass in u: water 18.02 g mol⁻¹, NaCl 58.5 g mol⁻¹. Molar mass (M) — ek mole ka grams mein mass, number mein atomic/molecular/formula mass (u) ke barabar: water 18.02 g mol⁻¹, NaCl 58.5 g mol⁻¹.
- Mass → moles — n = m / M. Example: 36 g of water = 36/18 = 2 mol (NCERT Problem 1.3). Mass → moles — n = m / M. Example: 36 g water = 36/18 = 2 mol (NCERT Problem 1.3).
- Moles → particles — N = n × Nₐ. 1 mol of water = 6.022 × 10²³ water molecules; 1 mol NaCl = 6.022 × 10²³ formula units. Moles → particles — N = n × Nₐ. 1 mol water = 6.022 × 10²³ water molecules; 1 mol NaCl = 6.022 × 10²³ formula units.
- Moles ↔ gas volume — NCERT's methane example: 22.7 L of CH₄ (1 mol) reacts with 45.4 L of O₂ (2 mol). Moles ↔ gas volume — NCERT ka methane example: 22.7 L CH₄ (1 mol) 45.4 L O₂ (2 mol) se react karti hai. Isliye V = n × 22.7 L.
- Molarity (M) — moles of solute in 1 litre of solution: M = n / V(L), so n = M × V(L). It changes with temperature, because volume does. Molarity (M) — 1 litre solution mein solute ke moles: M = n / V(L), isliye n = M × V(L). Yeh temperature ke saath badalti hai, kyunki volume badalta hai.
- Dilution — to make 0.2 M NaOH from 1 M NaOH, take 200 mL of the 1 M solution and dilute to 1 L (NCERT). Dilution — 1 M NaOH se 0.2 M NaOH banane ke liye 1 M solution ka 200 mL lekar 1 L tak dilute kijiye (NCERT).
- Molality (m) — moles of solute in 1 kg of solvent; it does not change with temperature. Molality (m) — 1 kg solvent mein solute ke moles; yeh temperature ke saath nahi badalti.
- Mole fraction (x) — moles of one component ÷ total moles: x_A = n_A / (n_A + n_B). Mole fraction (x) — ek component ke moles ÷ total moles: x_A = n_A / (n_A + n_B).
- Same count, different mass — 1 mol of water (18.02 g), NaCl (58.5 g) and glucose (180.162 g) all contain 6.022 × 10²³ units. Count same, mass alag — 1 mol water (18.02 g), NaCl (58.5 g) aur glucose (180.162 g), sabmein 6.022 × 10²³ units.
