Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- Electric flux — Δφ = E·ΔS = E ΔS cos θ; SI unit N C⁻¹ m².विद्युत फ्लक्स — Δφ = E·ΔS = E ΔS cos θ; SI मात्रक N C⁻¹ m²।Electric flux — Δφ = E·ΔS = E ΔS cos θ; SI unit N C⁻¹ m².
- Gauss's law — flux through any closed surface = q/ε₀, where q = total charge enclosed. Gauss's law — kisi bhi closed surface se flux = q/ε₀, jahan q = andar ka total charge.
- No charge inside — net flux is zero, e.g. a closed cylinder in a uniform field (φ₁ = –ES, φ₂ = +ES). Andar koi charge nahi — net flux zero, jaise uniform field mein closed cylinder (φ₁ = –ES, φ₂ = +ES).
- E vs q — E on the surface is due to ALL charges (inside and outside); q is only the charge inside.E E vs q — surface par E SAARE charges (andar aur bahar) ki wajah se hai; q sirf andar ka charge hai.
- Gaussian surface — any closed surface; it must not pass through a discrete point charge. Gaussian surface — koi bhi closed surface; yeh kisi point charge se hokar nahi guzarna chahiye.
- Why it works — Gauss’s law rests on the inverse-square law; it is easiest when the charge has symmetry. Kyon kaam karta hai — Gauss’s law inverse-square law par based hai; symmetry ho to sabse aasaan.
- Infinite wire — cylinder of radius r, length l: E × 2πrl = λl/ε₀ ⇒ E = λ/2πε₀r, radial. Infinite wire — radius r, length l ka cylinder: E × 2πrl = λl/ε₀ ⇒ E = λ/2πε₀r, radial.
- Ends of the cylinder — E is parallel to them, so they add no flux. Cylinder ke ends — E inke parallel hai, isliye inse koi flux nahi.
- Infinite plane sheet — 2EA = σA/ε₀ ⇒ E = σ/2ε₀, along the normal n̂, away from the sheet if σ > 0. Infinite plane sheet — 2EA = σA/ε₀ ⇒ E = σ/2ε₀, normal n̂ ki disha mein, σ > 0 ho to sheet se door.
- Sheet field and distance — E does not depend on the distance from the sheet.
- Thin shell, outside — E = q/4πε₀r² (r > R), as if all charge were at the centre. Thin shell, bahar — E = q/4πε₀r² (r > R), maano saara charge centre par ho.
- Thin shell, inside — E = 0 (r < R), because the Gaussian sphere encloses no charge. Thin shell, andar — E = 0 (r < R), kyonki Gaussian sphere koi charge enclose nahi karta.
- ε₀ — permittivity of free space = 8.854 × 10⁻¹² C² N⁻¹ m².ε₀ — मुक्त आकाश की विद्युतशीलता = 8.854 × 10⁻¹² C² N⁻¹ m²।ε₀ — free space ki permittivity = 8.854 × 10⁻¹² C² N⁻¹ m².
