Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- Angle of deviation — the angle between the incident ray produced and the emergent ray. Angle of deviation — incident ray ke extension aur emergent ray ke beech ka angle.
- Dispersion — the splitting of white light into its component colours. Dispersion — white light ka apne component colours mein bantna.
- VIBGYOR — violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red: the order of colours in the spectrum.VIBGYOR — बैंगनी, जामुनी, नीला, हरा, पीला, नारंगी, लाल: स्पेक्ट्रम में रंगों का क्रम।VIBGYOR — violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red: spectrum mein colours ka order.
- Why colours separate — different colours bend through different angles; red bends the least, violet the most. Colours alag kyun — alag colours alag angles se mudte hain; red sabse kam, violet sabse zyada.
- Newton — first to use a glass prism to get the spectrum of sunlight; a second inverted prism recombined it into white light. Newton — sunlight ka spectrum paane ke liye glass prism sabse pehle use kiya; doosre ulte prism se phir white light.
- Rainbow — a natural spectrum after rain, always opposite to the Sun; droplets refract, disperse, reflect internally and refract again. Rainbow — baarish ke baad natural spectrum, hamesha Sun ke opposite; droplets refract, disperse, internally reflect aur phir refract karti hain.
- Twinkling of stars — due to atmospheric refraction of starlight.
- Advance sunrise, delayed sunset — the Sun is visible about 2 minutes before actual sunrise and about 2 minutes after actual sunset. Advance sunrise, delayed sunset — actual sunrise se lagbhag 2 minute pehle aur sunset ke lagbhag 2 minute baad tak Sun dikhta hai.
- Tyndall effect — scattering of light makes particles visible, e.g. a sunbeam in a smoke-filled room or through a dense forest canopy. Tyndall effect — light ke scattering se particles dikhne lagte hain, jaise dhuen bhare kamre mein ya ghane jungle se aati dhoop.
- Blue sky — fine particles scatter blue (shorter wavelength) more strongly than red; the scattered blue reaches our eyes. Blue sky — fine particles red se zyada blue (shorter wavelength) scatter karte hain; scattered blue hamari aankhon tak aata hai.
- Danger signals are red — red is least scattered by fog or smoke, so it is seen in the same colour at a distance. Danger signals red — fog ya smoke se red sabse kam scatter hota hai, isliye door se bhi usi colour mein dikhta hai.
