Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- Complete flower — four parts — sepals, petals, stamens and pistil. Complete flower — chaar parts — sepals, petals, stamens aur pistil.
- Stamen (male) — filament + anther; anther makes pollen grains with male gametes. Stamen (male) — filament + anther; anther male gametes wale pollen grains banata hai.
- Pistil (female) — stigma + style + ovary; ovary holds ovules. Pistil (female) — stigma + style + ovary; ovary mein ovules.
- Pollination — transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma; needed for fruits and seeds. Pollination — anther se stigma tak pollen grains ka transfer; fruits aur seeds ke liye zaroori.
- Self-pollination — to the stigma of the same flower or another flower of the same plant. Self-pollination — usi flower ya usi plant ke doosre flower ke stigma par.
- Cross-pollination — to the stigma of a flower of another plant of the same type. Cross-pollination — same type ke doosre plant ke flower ke stigma par.
- Pollinators — wind, water, insects (bees, butterflies) or birds. Pollinators — hawa, paani, insects (bees, butterflies) ya birds.
- Wind pollination — wheat, maize, rice: light, small pollen made in large numbers; long feathery stigma. Wind pollination — gehun, makka, dhaan: halke, chhote pollen bahut zyada sankhya mein; lamba feathery stigma.
- Pollen tube — grows from the pollen on the stigma through the style into the ovary.
- Fertilisation — the male gamete reaches the ovule and fuses with the egg cell — beginning of a new life. Fertilisation — male gamete ovule tak pahunchkar egg cell se fuse karta hai — nayi zindagi ki shuruaat.
- After fertilisation — zygote → embryo; ovule → seed; ovary → fruit. After fertilisation — zygote → embryo; ovule → seed; ovary → fruit.
- Meiosis — gametes form by meiosis, which halves the chromosome number; fusion restores it and brings variation. Meiosis — gametes meiosis se bante hain, jismein chromosomes aadhe hote hain; fusion se number poora hota hai aur variation aata hai.
