Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️

  • Vascular bundle — xylem and phloem together. Open: cambium present, can form secondary tissues (dicot stems). Closed: no cambium (monocots). Vascular bundle — xylem aur phloem saath. Open: cambium present, secondary tissues ban sakte hain (dicot stems). Closed: cambium nahi (monocots).
  • Conjoint — xylem and phloem on the same radius; common in stems and leaves; phloem usually only on the outer side of xylem. Conjoint — xylem aur phloem ek hi radius par; stems aur leaves mein common; phloem mostly xylem ke sirf bahar ki taraf.
  • Dicot epidermis — outermost, with thin cuticle; may bear trichomes and a few stomata. Dicot epidermis — sabse bahari, patli cuticle; trichomes aur kuch stomata ho sakte hain.
  • Dicot cortex — three sub-zones: collenchymatous hypodermis, parenchyma with conspicuous intercellular spaces, endodermis (starch sheath). Dicot cortex — 3 sub-zones: collenchymatous hypodermis, conspicuous intercellular spaces wala parenchyma, endodermis (starch sheath).
  • Pericycle — semi-lunar patches of sclerenchyma above the phloem. Pericycle — phloem ke upar sclerenchyma ke semi-lunar patches.
  • Medullary rays — a few layers of radially placed parenchyma between the vascular bundles. Medullary rays — vascular bundles ke beech radially placed parenchyma ki kuch layers.
  • Ring arrangement — a large number of bundles in a ring is characteristic of the dicot stem; each conjoint, open, endarch. Ring arrangement — bahut saare bundles ki ring dicot stem ki pehchaan; har ek conjoint, open, endarch.
  • Dicot pith — rounded parenchyma with large intercellular spaces in the centre. Dicot pith — centre mein bade intercellular spaces wala gol parenchyma.
  • Monocot hypodermis — sclerenchymatous (dicot: collenchymatous). Monocot hypodermis — sclerenchymatous (dicot: collenchymatous).
  • Monocot bundles — many, scattered, each in a sclerenchymatous bundle sheath; conjoint and closed; peripheral ones smaller than central ones. Monocot bundles — bahut saare, scattered, har ek sclerenchymatous bundle sheath mein; conjoint aur closed; peripheral wale central se chhote.
  • Inside monocot bundles — phloem parenchyma absent; water-containing cavities present. Monocot bundle ke andar — phloem parenchyma absent; water-containing cavities present.
  • Monocot ground tissue — large, conspicuous parenchyma; no separate cortex-pith zones are described. Monocot ground tissue — bada, saaf parenchyma; alag cortex-pith zones describe nahi kiye gaye.
