Key points ✍️मुख्य बातें ✍️Key points ✍️
- Oersted (1820) — found that a compass needle is deflected by a current in a nearby wire: electricity and magnetism are linked. Oersted (1820) — paas ke wire mein current se compass needle deflect hoti hai: electricity aur magnetism jude hain.
- Magnetic field — has both direction and magnitude; its direction is the way a compass north pole moves. Magnetic field — direction aur magnitude dono wali quantity; direction wo jidhar compass ka north pole chalta hai.
- Field lines — emerge from N and merge at S outside a magnet; inside, S to N; closer where the field is stronger.
- Never cross — if two lines crossed, the compass would point two ways at one point, which is not possible. Kabhi cross nahi — do lines cross karein to ek point par needle do directions dikhaye, jo possible nahi.
- Straight wire — concentric circles; the field grows with current and decreases with distance from the wire. Seedha wire — concentric circles; field current badhne par badhta aur distance badhne par ghatta hai.
- Right-hand thumb rule — hold the wire in the right hand with the thumb along the current; the curled fingers give the field direction. Right-hand thumb rule — wire ko right hand mein pakdein, thumb current ki direction mein; mudi ungliyan field ki direction.
- Circular loop — at the centre the lines appear straight; a coil of n turns gives n times the field of one turn. Circular loop — centre par lines seedhi dikhti hain; n turns ki coil ek turn ka n guna field deti hai.
- Solenoid — field like a bar magnet: one end N, the other S; inside, parallel lines show a uniform field. Solenoid — bar magnet jaisa field: ek end N, doosra S; andar parallel lines = uniform field.
- Electromagnet — soft iron placed inside a current-carrying solenoid becomes a magnet. Electromagnet — current wale solenoid ke andar rakha soft iron magnet ban jata hai.
- MRI — magnetic fields inside the body help take images of body parts (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).MRI — शरीर के अंदर के चुंबकीय क्षेत्र से अंगों के प्रतिबिंब (मैग्नेटिक रेज़ोनेंस इमेजिंग)।MRI — body ke andar ke magnetic field se body parts ki images (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
