Parts and what they mean
- +4 inner core (+4 आंतरिक क्रोड) — The nucleus plus inner electrons of a Si or Ge atom. With its 4 valence electrons removed it carries charge +4e.
- Covalent bond (सहसंयोजक आबंध) — Each atom shares one of its 4 valence electrons with each of its 4 neighbours and takes a share of one from each.
- Shared valence electrons (साझा संयोजकता इलेक्ट्रॉन) — The two electrons of a bond shuttle back and forth between the two atoms and hold them together. Bound — they cannot carry current.
