Parts and what they mean
- Turns: current out of the page (फेरे: धारा पृष्ठ से बाहर) — Cross-sections of the turns. On top the current comes out of the page (⊙); curl your right-hand fingers with the current and the thumb points to the right — the N end.
- Turns: current into the page (फेरे: धारा पृष्ठ के अंदर) — At the bottom the same current goes into the page (⊗).
- Field inside the solenoid (परिनालिका के अंदर क्षेत्र) — Nearly uniform and along the axis, from the S end to the N end.
- N end of the solenoid (परिनालिका का N सिरा) — Looking at this end, the current goes anticlockwise. Lines come out here.
- S end of the solenoid (परिनालिका का S सिरा) — Looking at this end, the current goes clockwise. Lines go in here.
- Field lines (क्षेत्र रेखाएँ) — Computed from the Biot–Savart field of the turns. Outside they bend round from N to S and close through the inside.
