Parts and what they mean
- Electric field lines (विद्युत क्षेत्र रेखाएँ) — They begin on the positive charge and end on the negative charge — they do not continue through the charges.
- Charge +q (आवेश +q) — A source of E: net outward flux q/ε₀.
- Charge −q (आवेश −q) — A sink of E.
- Closed surface i (बंद पृष्ठ i) — Encloses no charge: lines in = lines out, net flux zero.
- Closed surface ii (बंद पृष्ठ ii) — Encloses +q: net OUTWARD flux. For a magnet there is no such surface — magnetic flux through every closed surface is zero.
