Axial and equatorial field of a bar magnetछड़ चुंबक का अक्षीय और निरक्षीय क्षेत्रAxial and equatorial field of a bar magnet
NCERT Eq 5.4–5.5 · Class 12 Physics · Chapter 5 · interactive diagram
Parts and what they mean
- Magnetic moment m (चुंबकीय आघूर्ण m) — Along the magnet from S to N.
- Point on the axis (अक्ष पर बिंदु) — On the line through both poles, at distance r ≫ size of the magnet.
- Axial field B_A (अक्षीय क्षेत्र B_A) — B_A = (μ₀/4π)(2m/r³), in the direction of m.
- Point on the equator (निरक्ष पर बिंदु) — On the perpendicular bisector (normal bisector) of the magnet.
- Equatorial field B_E (निरक्षीय क्षेत्र B_E) — B_E = −(μ₀/4π)(m/r³): half the axial value, opposite to m.
- Distance r (axial) (दूरी r (अक्षीय)) — Measured from the centre of the magnet.
- Distance r (equatorial) (दूरी r (निरक्षीय)) — Same distance; the axial field is twice as strong.
- N pole (उत्तरी ध्रुव) — Red half.
- S pole (दक्षिणी ध्रुव) — Blue half.
