NCERT Fig 4.10 · Class 12 Physics · Chapter 4 · interactive diagram
Parts and what they mean
- Loop (seen edge-on) (पाश (किनारे से दिखता)) — The loop is perpendicular to the page; we see its cross-section.
- Top of the loop: current out of the page (पाश का ऊपरी भाग: धारा पृष्ठ से बाहर) — Field circles anticlockwise around it.
- Bottom of the loop: current into the page (पाश का निचला भाग: धारा पृष्ठ के अंदर) — Field circles clockwise around it.
- Field lines (computed from Biot–Savart) (क्षेत्र रेखाएँ (बायो-सावर्ट से परिकलित)) — Closed loops; inside the loop they all point the same way (to the right here).
- North-pole face (उत्तर-ध्रुव फलक) — Field lines come out of this face. Seen from here, the current goes anticlockwise.
- South-pole face (दक्षिण-ध्रुव फलक) — Field lines enter this face. Seen from here, the current goes clockwise.
