Parts and what they mean
- Uniform field E along the cylinder’s axis (बेलन के अक्ष के अनुदिश एकसमान क्षेत्र E) — Field lines enter through face 1 and leave through face 2.
- Face 1 (left end) (फलक 1 (बायाँ सिरा)) — Outward normal n̂₁ is opposite to E (θ = 180°): φ₁ = −EA.
- Face 2 (right end) (फलक 2 (दायाँ सिरा)) — Outward normal n̂₂ is along E (θ = 0°): φ₂ = +EA.
- Curved side surface (वक्र पार्श्व पृष्ठ) — Normal is perpendicular to E (θ = 90°), so no flux: φ₃ = 0.
- Normal n̂₁ (अभिलंब n̂₁) — Outward from face 1.
- Normal n̂₂ (अभिलंब n̂₂) — Outward from face 2.
- Normal n̂₃ (अभिलंब n̂₃) — On the curved surface, perpendicular to the axis.
