Parts and what they mean
- Ball (Example 11.3 b) (गेंद (उदाहरण 11.3 b)) — p = 4.50 kg m/s → λ = h/p = 1.47 × 10⁻³⁴ m: far too small to detect, so everyday objects show no wave behaviour.
- Electron (Example 11.3 a) (इलेक्ट्रॉन (उदाहरण 11.3 a)) — p = 4.92 × 10⁻²⁴ kg m/s → λ = 0.135 nm: comparable to X-ray wavelengths and atomic spacings in crystals, so it is measurable.
- Size of a proton (प्रोटॉन का आकार) — About 10⁻¹⁵ m. The ball’s λ is about 10⁻¹⁹ of this.
- Size of an atom (परमाणु का आकार) — About 10⁻¹⁰ m (0.1 nm).
- X-ray wavelengths (X-किरण तरंगदैर्ध्य) — Roughly 10⁻¹¹ m to 10⁻⁸ m.
- Visible light (दृश्य प्रकाश) — About 400–700 nm: thousands of times longer than the electron’s λ.
- Logarithmic length scale (लघुगणकीय लंबाई पैमाना) — Each tick is 10⁵ times the previous one.
