Parts and their functions
- Histone octamer (हिस्टोन अष्टक) — Eight positively charged histone molecules (rich in lysine and arginine).
- DNA wrapped around the core (कोर पर लिपटा डीएनए) — Negatively charged DNA wraps the octamer; a typical nucleosome has 200 bp of DNA.
- H1 histone (H1 हिस्टोन) — Histone at the point where DNA enters and leaves the nucleosome.
- Linker DNA (संयोजी (लिंकर) डीएनए) — DNA joining one nucleosome to the next.
- Beads-on-string (chromatin) (धागे पर मोती (क्रोमैटिन)) — Repeating nucleosomes seen under the electron microscope; the basic structure of chromatin.
