Parts and what they mean
- x-axis (x-अक्ष) — Horizontal number line; the first number of each vertex is read here.
- y-axis (y-अक्ष) — Vertical number line; the second number of each vertex is read here.
- Origin O(0, 0) (मूल बिंदु O(0, 0)) — Where the two axes cross.
- Triangle ABC (त्रिभुज ABC) — Area = ½ |3 8 1; −4 2 1; 5 1 1| — one row (x, y, 1) per vertex.
- Vertex A(3, 8) (शीर्ष A(3, 8)) — First row of the determinant: 3, 8, 1.
- Vertex B(−4, 2) (शीर्ष B(−4, 2)) — Second row: −4, 2, 1.
- Vertex C(5, 1) (शीर्ष C(5, 1)) — Third row: 5, 1, 1.
- Area = 61/2 sq units (क्षेत्रफल = 61/2 वर्ग इकाई) — \frac{1}{2}[3(1) - 8(-9) + 1(-14)] = \frac{1}{2}(61) = 30.5 square units.
