Parts and what they mean
- Vector \vec{a} = \overrightarrow{AB} (सदिश \vec{a} = \overrightarrow{AB}) — First move: from A to B.
- Vector \vec{b} = \overrightarrow{BC} (सदिश \vec{b} = \overrightarrow{BC}) — \vec{b} is shifted so its tail sits on the head of \vec{a} (head to tail).
- Sum \vec{a} + \vec{b} = \overrightarrow{AC} (योगफल \vec{a} + \vec{b} = \overrightarrow{AC}) — The third side, from the start of \vec{a} to the end of \vec{b}: triangle law.
- Negative -\vec{b} = \overrightarrow{BC'} (ऋणात्मक -\vec{b} = \overrightarrow{BC'}) — Same length as \vec{b}, opposite direction.
- Difference \vec{a} - \vec{b} = \overrightarrow{AC'} (अंतर \vec{a} - \vec{b} = \overrightarrow{AC'}) — \vec{a} - \vec{b} = \vec{a} + (-\vec{b}): add the reversed \vec{b}.
- Point A (बिंदु A) — Start of the journey.
- Point B (बिंदु B) — Head of \vec{a} = tail of \vec{b}.
- Point C (बिंदु C) — \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BC} + \overrightarrow{CA} = \vec{0}: going round the triangle brings you back.
- Point C′ (बिंदु C′) — End of -\vec{b} drawn from B.
