Parts and their functions

• First trophic level — producers (प्रथम पोषण स्तर — उत्पादक) — Green plants: phytoplankton, grass, trees. They fix solar energy into food.
• Second trophic level — herbivores (primary consumers) (द्वितीय पोषण स्तर — शाकाहारी (प्राथमिक उपभोक्ता)) — Feed on producers: zooplankton, grasshopper, cow.
• Third trophic level — carnivores (secondary consumers) (तृतीय पोषण स्तर — मांसाहारी (द्वितीयक उपभोक्ता)) — Feed on herbivores: birds, fishes, wolf. Also called primary carnivores.
• Fourth trophic level — top carnivores (tertiary consumers) (चतुर्थ पोषण स्तर — शीर्ष मांसाहारी (तृतीयक उपभोक्ता)) — Feed on carnivores: man, lion.
