Parts and their functions

• Top layer — trees (ऊपरी स्तर — वृक्ष) — Trees occupy the top vertical stratum (layer) of a forest.
• Second layer — shrubs (दूसरा स्तर — झाड़ियाँ) — Shrubs occupy the second layer.
• Bottom layer — herbs and grasses (निचला स्तर — शाक व घास) — Herbs and grasses occupy the bottom layers.
