Effect of a catalyst on activation energyसक्रियण ऊर्जा पर उत्प्रेरक का प्रभावEffect of a catalyst on activation energy

Parts and what they mean
- Path without catalyst (higher barrier) (बिना उत्प्रेरक का पथ (ऊँचा अवरोध)) — Fewer molecules have energy ≥ Ea, so the reaction is slower.
- Path with catalyst (alternate pathway, lower barrier) (उत्प्रेरक के साथ पथ (वैकल्पिक, नीचा अवरोध)) — The catalyst forms a temporary intermediate complex with the reactants (intermediate complex theory) and opens an easier route.
- Ea without catalyst (बिना उत्प्रेरक Ea) — Higher activation energy.
- Ea′ with catalyst (lower) (उत्प्रेरक के साथ Ea′ (कम)) — Lower Ea → larger k (Arrhenius) → faster reaction.
- ΔH (and ΔG) unchanged by the catalyst (ΔH (और ΔG) उत्प्रेरक से नहीं बदलते) — Reactant and product levels stay the same; a catalyst does not change ΔG or the equilibrium constant — it only helps reach equilibrium faster.
- Reactants (अभिकारक) — Same starting level for both paths.
- Products (उत्पाद) — Same final level for both paths.
- Potential energy vs reaction coordinate (स्थितिज ऊर्जा बनाम अभिक्रिया निर्देशांक) — Example: MnO₂ catalyses 2KClO₃ → 2KCl + 3O₂.
