Parts and what they mean
- Platinised platinum electrodes (प्लैटिनीकृत प्लैटिनम इलेक्ट्रोड) — Two Pt electrodes coated with platinum black (finely divided Pt deposited electrochemically), area A, distance l apart.
- Electrolyte solution (विद्युत-अपघट्य विलयन) — The column of solution between the plates has resistance R = ρ l/A.
- Connecting wires (संयोजक तार) — Connect the cell to the Wheatstone bridge (AC source).
- Distance between electrodes (l) (इलेक्ट्रोडों के बीच दूरी (l)) — Cell constant G* = l/A (unit: length⁻¹).
- Area of cross-section (A) (अनुप्रस्थ काट क्षेत्रफल (A)) — Measuring l and A directly is unreliable, so G* is found using a KCl solution of known conductivity: G* = R × κ.
