Parts and what they mean

• Pt(II), square planar (Pt(II), वर्ग समतली) — All four donor atoms and Pt lie in one plane; L–Pt–L angles are 90° (neighbours) or 180° (opposite).
• NH₃ (ammine) (NH₃ (ऐम्मीन)) — Neutral unidentate ligand.
• Cl⁻ (chlorido) (Cl⁻ (क्लोरिडो)) — Anionic unidentate ligand.
• cis isomer (cisplatin) (समपक्ष (cis) समावयव (सिस-प्लैटिन)) — Two identical ligands adjacent. cis-[Pt(NH₃)₂Cl₂] = cisplatin, which inhibits the growth of tumours.
• trans isomer (विपक्ष (trans) समावयव) — Two identical ligands opposite each other. Same formula, different properties.
