Parts and what they mean

• Co(III), octahedral (Co(III), अष्टफलकीय) — x + 4(0) + 2(−1) = +1 → x = +3.
• NH₃ (ammine) (NH₃ (ऐम्मीन)) — Four neutral ammine ligands.
• Cl⁻ (chlorido) (Cl⁻ (क्लोरिडो)) — Two chlorido ligands — their relative position decides cis or trans.
• cis-[Co(NH₃)₄Cl₂]⁺ (समपक्ष-[Co(NH₃)₄Cl₂]⁺) — Cl on adjacent corners. This is the violet CoCl₃·4NH₃ of Werner’s Table 5.1.
• trans-[Co(NH₃)₄Cl₂]⁺ (विपक्ष-[Co(NH₃)₄Cl₂]⁺) — Cl on opposite corners. The green CoCl₃·4NH₃.
