- Answer: A is acetophenone (उत्तर: A ऐसीटोफ़ीनोन है) — C₆H₅COCH₃ — a monosubstituted aromatic methyl ketone.
- Clue 1: forms a 2,4-DNP derivative (संकेत 1: 2,4-DNP व्युत्पन्न बनाता है) — Any aldehyde or ketone does this.
- Clue 2: does not reduce Tollens’ or Fehling’s reagent (संकेत 2: टॉलेन या फेहलिंग अभिकर्मक को अपचयित नहीं करता) — Therefore not an aldehyde — a ketone.
- Clue 3: positive iodoform test (संकेत 3: आयोडोफॉर्म परीक्षण धनात्मक) — Yellow CHI₃ means a CH₃CO– group: a methyl ketone.
- Clue 4: no reaction with bromine water or Baeyer’s reagent (संकेत 4: ब्रोमीन जल या बेयर अभिकर्मक से कोई अभिक्रिया नहीं) — High unsaturation in C₈H₈O but no C=C → an aromatic ring.
