Parts and what they mean
- 3d series (3d श्रेणी) — Rises to a maximum near V/Cr (about d⁵), then falls; Mn is out of line.
- 4d series (4d श्रेणी) — Higher than 3d: stronger metal–metal bonding. Maximum at Mo.
- 5d series (5d श्रेणी) — Highest of all; maximum at W.
- Maximum near d⁵ (d⁵ के पास अधिकतम) — Each series peaks around the middle, where the most unpaired d electrons join the metallic bonding.
- Mn and Tc anomaly (Mn और Tc की असंगति) — Mn (3d⁵ 4s²) melts lower than its neighbours — NCERT notes Mn and Tc as exceptions.
- Group 12 lowest (वर्ग 12 सबसे कम) — d¹⁰: no unpaired d electrons for metallic bonding. Hg is a liquid at room temperature.
- Axes (अक्ष) — x: group number 3–12; y: melting point in kelvin. Values: standard data.
