Parts and what they mean
- 3d series (NCERT Table 4.2) (3d श्रेणी (NCERT सारणी 4.2)) — Sc 326, Ti 473, V 515, Cr 397, Mn 281, Fe 416, Co 425, Ni 430, Cu 339, Zn 126 kJ/mol.
- 4d series (4d श्रेणी) — Higher than 3d (standard data).
- 5d series (5d श्रेणी) — Highest; W about 849 kJ/mol (standard data).
- Maximum near the middle (मध्य के पास अधिकतम) — More unpaired d electrons → stronger interatomic bonding → higher atomisation enthalpy.
- Mn low (Mn कम) — Mn breaks the trend: 281 kJ/mol.
- Zn lowest (126) (Zn सबसे कम (126)) — 3d¹⁰ 4s²: weak metallic bonding.
- Heavier series higher (भारी श्रेणियाँ अधिक) — Second and third series have greater atomisation enthalpies → much more frequent metal–metal bonding in compounds of heavy transition metals.
- Axes (अक्ष) — x: group 3–12; y: ΔaH° in kJ/mol.
