Parts and their functions

• Light from one side (एक ओर से प्रकाश) — The open side of the box faces light from a window.
• Shoot (प्ररोह) — Bends towards light (positive phototropism) — auxin moves to the shady side, which grows more.
• Root (जड़) — Bends away from light (and grows down with gravity).
• Conical flask with water (जल से भरा शंक्वाकार फ्लास्क) — Gives water to the seedling.
• Wire mesh (तार की जाली) — Covers the neck of the flask; germinated bean seeds rest on it.
• Cardboard box (गत्ते का बक्सा) — Open on one side only, so light comes from one direction.
