Parts and their functions

• UV radiation from the Sun (सूर्य का पराबैंगनी (UV) विकिरण) — Highly damaging to organisms; causes skin cancer in humans.
• Ozone layer (ओजोन परत) — O3 at higher levels of the atmosphere shields the earth's surface from UV.
• How ozone forms (ओजोन कैसे बनती है) — UV splits O2 into O atoms; O + O2 → O3.
• Depletion (अपक्षय) — Ozone dropped sharply from the 1980s.
• CFCs (CFCs) — Chlorofluorocarbons (refrigerants, fire extinguishers) deplete ozone. UNEP 1987: CFC production frozen at 1986 levels; CFC-free fridges now mandatory.
• Earth (पृथ्वी) — Less ozone → more UV reaches living things.
