Parts and their functions

• Parents: RRyy × rrYY (जनक: RRyy × rrYY) — Round green seeds × wrinkled yellow seeds.
• F1: RrYy (F1: RrYy) — All round and yellow — round (R) and yellow (Y) are dominant.
• Gametes of F1 (F1 के युग्मक) — RY, Ry, rY, ry — each gamete gets one gene for shape and one for colour, in every combination.
• Round, yellow (9) (गोल, पीले (9)) — At least one R and one Y.
• Round, green (3) — new combination (गोल, हरे (3) — नया संयोजन) — At least one R, but yy.
• Wrinkled, yellow (3) — new combination (झुर्रीदार, पीले (3) — नया संयोजन) — rr with at least one Y.
• Wrinkled, green (1) (झुर्रीदार, हरे (1)) — Only rryy — both traits recessive.
• F2 ratio 9 : 3 : 3 : 1 (F2 अनुपात 9 : 3 : 3 : 1) — NCERT counts 315 : 108 : 101 : 32. New combinations prove shape and colour are inherited independently.
