Parts and their functions

• Tropics (23.5° N to 23.5° S) (उष्णकटिबंध (23.5° उ. से 23.5° द.)) — With very few exceptions the tropics have more species than temperate or polar areas.
• Colombia: nearly 1,400 bird species (कोलंबिया: लगभग 1,400 पक्षी जातियाँ) — Located near the equator.
• India: more than 1,200 bird species (भारत: 1,200 से अधिक पक्षी जातियाँ) — Much of India’s land is in tropical latitudes.
• New York (41° N): 105 bird species (न्यूयॉर्क (41° उ.): 105 पक्षी जातियाँ) — Temperate latitude — far fewer species.
• Greenland (71° N): only 56 bird species (ग्रीनलैंड (71° उ.): केवल 56 पक्षी जातियाँ) — Near the pole — fewest species.
