Parts and their functions

• Box 1 (m₁) (डिब्बा 1 (m₁)) — Pulled by F to the right and by tension T to the left.
• Box 2 (m₂) (डिब्बा 2 (m₂)) — Only tension T acts on it horizontally (to the right).
• External force F (बाहरी बल F) — The only horizontal force from outside the system (floor is frictionless).
• Tension T — internal force (तनाव T — आंतरिक बल) — An action–reaction pair inside the system; it cancels when both boxes are taken together.
• Whole system (पूरा निकाय) — Moves like one object of mass m₁ + m₂: a = F/(m₁ + m₂) (Eq. 6.4). Vertically, weight (m₁ + m₂)g is balanced by normal force N₁ + N₂.
