Parts and their functions

• (a) Same direction ((a) एक ही दिशा) — Forces add: 10 N + 6 N = 16 N in their common direction.
• (b) Opposite directions ((b) विपरीत दिशाएँ) — Subtract: 10 N − 6 N = 4 N, in the direction of the larger force (right).
• (c) Opposite, larger force to the left ((c) विपरीत, बड़ा बल बाईं ओर) — Net force = 4 N towards the left. Direction matters — force is a vector.
• Balanced forces (संतुलित बल) — Equal and opposite forces give zero net force — no change in the state of rest or motion.
