Forces acting on a pushed boxधकेले गए डिब्बे पर लगने वाले बल
NCERT Fig 6.11 · interactive diagram
Parts and their functions
- Box on the floor (फ़र्श पर डिब्बा) — Its motion depends only on the NET force of all four forces.
- Applied force (push) (लगाया गया बल (धक्का)) — The box starts moving only when this is larger than the maximum friction.
- Force of friction (घर्षण बल) — Acts along the surfaces in contact, opposite to the motion (or attempted motion). It is why a pushed box stops when you let go.
- Normal force (अभिलंब बल) — Push of the floor, perpendicular to the surface, upward.
- Gravitational force (weight) (गुरुत्वीय बल (भार)) — W = mg downward (g = 9.8 m s⁻²). Balanced by the normal force, so no vertical motion.
