Newton’s first law: ball on different surfacesन्यूटन का प्रथम नियम: अलग सतहों पर गेंद
NCERT Activity 6.1 · interactive diagram
Parts and their functions
- Rough surface (खुरदरी सतह) — Large friction — the ball slows down and stops quickly.
- Smooth surface (चिकनी सतह) — Less friction — the ball goes much farther before stopping.
- Frictionless (thought experiment) (घर्षण-रहित (विचार प्रयोग)) — With no net force the ball would keep moving with the same velocity for ever — Newton’s first law (Galileo’s idea). Friction, not “lack of force”, stops moving things.
