Crystallization of copper sulfateकॉपर सल्फेट का क्रिस्टलीकरण
NCERT Fig 5.8 · interactive diagram
Parts and their functions
- Saturated solution on a water bath (जल ऊष्मक पर संतृप्त विलयन) — Copper sulfate is added to warm water (with one drop of dilute sulfuric acid) until no more dissolves.
- Glass rod (काँच की छड़) — Stirring helps the solid dissolve faster.
- Hot filtration (गर्म छानना) — Filtering while hot removes insoluble impurities before crystals form.
- Filtrate (निस्यंद) — The clear hot saturated solution collected in a clean beaker.
- Watch glass cover (वॉच ग्लास ढक्कन) — Covers the beaker so dust does not fall in while it cools.
- Copper sulfate crystals (कॉपर सल्फेट के क्रिस्टल) — Slow cooling gives large, shiny, well-shaped blue crystals. They are filtered, rinsed with cold water and dried.
