Parts and their functions

• Axes (अक्ष) — Time on the X-axis, position on the Y-axis. A graph is not a route map.
• Straight sloping line (सीधी झुकी रेखा) — Equal displacements in equal times → constant velocity (uniform motion).
• Curved line (वक्र रेखा) — Displacements in equal times keep increasing → velocity changing → accelerated motion.
• Line parallel to time axis (समय अक्ष के समांतर रेखा) — Position not changing → object at rest (e.g. 40 m from origin).
• Slope = velocity (ढलान = वेग) — v = Δs ÷ Δt, e.g. (80 m − 40 m) ÷ (4 s − 2 s) = 20 m/s. Steeper line → greater velocity.
