Parts and their functions

• Parenchyma (मृदूतक) — Living, thin-walled, loosely packed cells. Stores food; photosynthesis in green parts; air spaces help aquatic plants float.
• Intercellular space (अंतरकोशिकीय स्थान) — Spaces between parenchyma cells; large air spaces in aquatic plants.
• Collenchyma (स्थूलकोणोतक) — Living cells, unevenly thickened at corners by pectin; support with flexibility — stems and tendrils bend without breaking (coriander leaf stalk).
• Sclerenchyma (दृढ़ोतक) — Thick lignin walls, mostly dead; hard and strong — coconut husk, walnut shell, seed coats, leaf veins.
