Parts and their functions
- Ovaries (अंडाशय) — Produce eggs and female hormones. From puberty, usually one mature egg is released each month (ovulation).
- Fallopian tube (oviduct) (अंडवाहिनी (फैलोपियन नलिका)) — Connects ovary to uterus. Fertilisation usually happens here.
- Uterus (गर्भाशय) — Bag-like organ; its thick, blood-rich lining receives the embryo and the foetus grows here.
- Cervix (गर्भाशय ग्रीवा) — Narrow passage where the uterus opens into the vagina.
- Vagina (योनि) — Receives sperm; also the birth canal and the exit for menstrual flow.
