Parts and their functions
- Ceiling (support) (छत (आधार)) — The rope’s upper end is fixed here.
- Upper rope, tension T₁ (ऊपरी डोरी, तनाव T₁) — Pulls P along the rope towards the ceiling. T₁ cos θ = 60 N, T₁ sin θ = 50 N ⇒ T₁ ≈ 78 N.
- Lower rope, tension T₂ (निचली डोरी, तनाव T₂) — Vertical; holds the 6 kg mass, so T₂ = mg = 6 × 10 = 60 N.
- Horizontal force 50 N (क्षैतिज बल 50 N) — Applied at the midpoint P; it pushes the upper rope away from the vertical.
- Weight W (6 kg) (भार W (6 kg)) — W = mg = 60 N (g = 10 m s⁻²).
- Angle θ with vertical (ऊर्ध्वाधर से कोण θ) — tan θ = 50/60 = 5/6 ⇒ θ ≈ 40°. It does not depend on the rope length.
- Free-body diagram of W (W का मुक्त-पिंड आरेख) — Only two forces: T₂ up and 60 N down. Equilibrium ⇒ T₂ = 60 N.
- Free-body diagram of P (P का मुक्त-पिंड आरेख) — Three concurrent forces T₁, T₂ and 50 N; their vector sum is zero.
