Parts and their functions

• Rain velocity v_r (वर्षा का वेग v_r) — 35 m s⁻¹ vertically down.
• Wind velocity v_w (हवा का वेग v_w) — 12 m s⁻¹ from east to west.
• Resultant R (परिणामी R) — R = √(35² + 12²) = 37 m s⁻¹. Rain arrives slanting from the east.
• Angle θ with vertical (ऊर्ध्वाधर से कोण θ) — tan θ = v_w / v_r = 12/35 = 0.343 → θ ≈ 19°.
• Umbrella (छाता) — Held in the vertical plane, tilted about 19° from vertical towards the east, to face the rain.
