Parts and their functions
- Ideal gas (dotted) (आदर्श गैस (बिंदुकित)) — PV/T = μR is the same at every pressure.
- Real gas at higher T₁ (उच्च ताप T₁ पर वास्तविक गैस) — Closer to the ideal line: at high temperature molecules interact less.
- Real gas at lower T₂ (निम्न ताप T₂ पर वास्तविक गैस) — Deviates more — intermolecular forces matter more at low temperature.
- Meeting point on the axis (अक्ष पर मिलन बिंदु) — As P → 0 every gas is ideal: PV/T = μR. For 1.00 g O₂: (1/32) × 8.31 = 0.26 J K⁻¹ (Ex 12.3).
