Parts and their functions

• Uniform hemispherical shell (एकसमान अर्धगोलीय कोश) — Open face upward (the bowl).
• Centre C → arrow c (केंद्र C → तीर c) — Inside a full shell the field is zero; the missing upper half would pull up, so the lower half pulls down: answer (iii) c.
• Point P → arrow e (बिंदु P → तीर e) — Same argument at any point of the flat face: the field is perpendicular to it, downward — answer (ii) e.
• Why: complete the sphere (कारण: गोला पूरा कीजिए) — Potential is constant inside a complete shell, so the intensity is zero; by symmetry the two halves’ fields cancel, leaving only a downward component for the lower half.
