Parts and what they mean
- Permutations: ³P₂ = 6 (क्रमचय: ³P₂ = 6) — Arrangements — XY and YX are different (e.g. captain and vice-captain).
- Each ordered arrangement (हर क्रमित व्यवस्था) — Two arrangements (like XY, YX) use the same two people.
- Combinations: ³C₂ = 3 (संचय: ³C₂ = 3) — Selections — the team {X, Y} is the same as {Y, X}.
- Each selection (हर चयन) — Each selection of 2 can be arranged in 2! = 2 ways.
- ⁿPᵣ = ⁿCᵣ × r! (ⁿPᵣ = ⁿCᵣ × r!) — Choose r things, then arrange them in r! ways.
