Parts and what they mean

• Start (आरंभ) — Mohan first chooses a pant, then a shirt.
• First choice: 3 ways (पहला चयन: 3 तरीके) — Any one of P1, P2, P3.
• Second choice: 2 ways each (दूसरा चयन: हर बार 2 तरीके) — For EVERY pant there are 2 shirts S1, S2.
• Total = 3 × 2 = 6 (कुल = 3 × 2 = 6) — Fundamental principle of counting: m ways then n ways gives m × n ways.
