Parts and their functions

• Open system (खुला निकाय) — Exchanges both matter and energy with the surroundings — e.g. reactants in an open beaker.
• Closed system (बंद निकाय) — Exchanges energy but not matter — reactants in a closed metal vessel.
• Isolated system (विलगित निकाय) — Exchanges neither matter nor energy — reactants in a sealed thermos flask (ideally).
