Parts and their functions

• Relaxed sarcomere (शिथिल सार्कोमियर) — Z lines far apart; wide I bands and H zone.
• Contracted sarcomere (संकुचित सार्कोमियर) — Actin slid towards the centre; Z lines closer; H zone almost gone.
• A band constant (A पट्ट स्थिर) — Myosin filaments do not shorten, so the A band keeps its length.
• I band shortens (I पट्ट छोटा) — Overlap increases, so the I band reduces.
• Z lines pulled in (Z रेखाएँ अंदर) — Pulled by actin filaments attached to them → sarcomere shortens.
