Parts and their functions

• Bundle sheath (Kranz) (पूलाच्छद (क्रांज़)) — Large cells with many chloroplasts, thick gas-tight walls; site of the Calvin cycle (RuBisCO) in C₄ plants.
• Mesophyll (पर्णमध्योतक) — Fix CO₂ with PEPcase into OAA; lack RuBisCO in C₄ plants.
• Vascular bundle (संवहन बंडल) — Xylem and phloem in the centre of the wreath.
• Epidermis (अधिचर्म) — Upper and lower epidermis of the leaf.
