Parts and their functions

• Substrate (S) (क्रियाधार (S)) — Starting energy level of the reactant.
• Product (P) (उत्पाद (P)) — Final level; lower than S = exothermic.
• Without enzyme (एंजाइम के बिना) — High energy barrier — slow reaction.
• With enzyme (एंजाइम के साथ) — Lower barrier through the ES complex — fast reaction.
• Activation energy (सक्रियण ऊर्जा) — Energy needed (without enzyme) to reach the transition state.
• Lower activation energy (कम सक्रियण ऊर्जा) — The enzyme brings the activation energy down.
